State-of-the-Art Flow Cytometry Analysis and Cell Sorting Expertise
The Flow Core or Flow Cytometry Shared Resource at the University of Michigan provides support for clinical and basic science research investigators at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center as well as surrounding biotech institutions using state-of-the-art flow cytometry analysis and cell sorting.
In a broad range of basic and medical science disciplines, the flow cytometry team provides instrumentation and expert support such as:
- Experimental design
- Data interpretation
- Application development
Technical support is also provided across many phases of research, including:
- Grant applications
- Publication development
- Graphics presentations
Convenient Locations and Core Management System for Processing Requests
With four convenient locations, Flow Cytometry uses MiCores, an online system to streamline the process of ordering and billing for core service requests. It is necessary to use this core management system to schedule an appointment or reserve time on any instrument. If you have not previously used MiCores, please review these easy instructions to set up an account.
Instrumentation Guidance Available for Investigators
Samples are prepared by investigators in their individual laboratories. The investigators then deliver their samples to the flow cytometry lab, before the scheduled appointment time, for flow analysis or cell sorting. Additionally, instrumentation is available for individual investigators to run their own samples.
We provide various protocols as examples for instructional review as well as frequently asked questions to guide investigators through the process steps of flow cytometry analysis and cell sorting.
